Meet Councillor Tim Morrison of Esquimalt

Smiling man in blue shirt.

About Tim

Hi, I'm Tim and I love Esquimalt and I love serving our community. There will be a lot of changes for the next council term with a new Mayor along with many new council candidates for your consideration. When making your choices for electing our next council, I offer you the benefit of my extensive record of community service and knowledgeable experience that will collaborate well with the fresh perspectives of those who will be newly elected.

During my life, I have worked, volunteered and travelled throughout the world. Having visited nearly 90 countries on six continents, I have experienced a vast array of communities and a diversity of cultures. But Esquimalt is my home and I care deeply about how it is governed and I strive to be a voice that is both responsible and responsive to all within our community.

In addition to my service on council, I work in a senior communications role at a Crown corporation and I am a registered member of the Canadian Public Relations Society (CPRS). My professional background also includes experience as a journalist, teacher, school trustee, adventure tour guide and travel writer. I am a graduate of Simon Fraser University where I studied political science, communications and geography along with a specialization in Urban Studies.

In my free time, I am usually on one of my frequent long walks around Esquimalt or swimming lengths at our Rec Centre.
